Chicken Manchurian Recipie
Ingredients
For the Chicken
500g boneless chicken (cut into small pieces)
2 tablespoons cornflour
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 egg (optional)
1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
Salt and pepper to taste
Oil for frying
For the Sauce
2 tablespoons oil
1 tablespoon finely chopped garlic
1 tablespoon finely chopped ginger
1 green chili (sliced)
1 medium onion (diced)
1 medium capsicum (diced)
2-3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons chili sauce
5 tablespoon tomato ketchup
1 teaspoon vinegar
1 cup water
1 tablespoon cornflour mixed in 2 tablespoons water
Salt and pepper to taste
Spring onions (chopped) for garnish
Instructions
Prepare the Chicken
In a mixing bowl, combine chicken pieces with cornflour, all-purpose flour, egg, ginger-garlic paste, salt, and pepper. Mix well until the chicken is coated.
Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the chicken pieces until golden and crispy. Remove and set aside.
Make the Sauce
Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan. Add chopped garlic, ginger, and green chili. Sauté for a few seconds.
Add the diced onion and capsicum, stir-fry on high heat for 2-3 minutes.
Add soy sauce, chili sauce, tomato ketchup, and vinegar. Mix well.
Thicken the Sauce
Add 1 cup of water to the pan and bring to a boil.
Slowly stir in the cornflour slurry (cornflour mixed with water) and cook until the sauce thickens.
Combine
Add the fried chicken pieces to the sauce and toss to coat evenly. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
Adjust salt and pepper as needed.
Garnish and Serve
Garnish with chopped spring onions.
Serve hot with fried rice or noodles.
