Gajar ka halwa
A classic dessert! Here's a simple recipe for Gajar Ka Halwa:
Ingredients
1 kg carrots (grated)
1 cup milk
1/2 cup ghee (clarified butter)
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
1/2 cup khoya ( optional for extra richness )
Chopped nuts (almonds or pistachios) for garnish
Instructions
Heat ghee: In a large pan, heat the ghee over medium heat.
Add grated carrots: Add the grated carrots and sauté for 5-7 minutes, until they start to soften.
Add milk: Add the milk and stir well. Cook for 10-12 minutes, until the milk has evaporated and the carrots are cooked.
Add sugar and spices: Add the sugar, cardamom powder, and khoya. Stir well and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Garnish and serve: Garnish with chopped nuts and serve hot or chilled.
