Masala chai
Here's a simple Masala Chai recipe for you
Ingredients
Water – 1 cup
Milk – 1 cup
Black tea leaves (or tea bags) – 2 teaspoons
Sugar– 1-2 teaspoons (adjust to taste)
Fresh ginger – 1-inch piece, crushed
Cardamom pods – 2-3, crushed
Cinnamon stick – 1 small piece
Cloves – 2-3
Black peppercorns – 2 (optional)
Instructions
Boil the spices: In a saucepan, add water, ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, and black peppercorns (if using). Bring it to a boil and let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes to allow the spices to release their flavors.
Add tea leaves: Add the black tea leaves (or tea bags) to the boiling water with the spices. Let it steep for 2-3 minutes. If you prefer a stronger tea flavor, you can let it steep a little longer.
Add milk and sugar: Add the milk and sugar to the mixture. Stir it well and bring it to a boil again. Keep an eye on the chai as it can overflow quickly when it starts to boil.
Strain and serve: Once the tea has reached a boil and has a rich color, strain it into cups. Serve hot.
